The lyrics talk about a woman who leaves a guy to 'look for herself' before she can love that person again. The guy loves her enough to let her go on this journey and now that 'she's back in the atmosphere', he is still there for her. Throughout her journey, she gets too caught up in trends of the day (Mozart, Taebo, etc). The guy wonders if he is now too boring (plain ol' jane) for her. He asks her if life was more exciting without him (did the wind sweep you off your feet), if it blew her mind, if she fell for someone else (did you fall for a shooting star, one without a permanent scar *the lead singer has a permanent scar on his chin). He also asks if she can imagine life without doing the things they used to do (first dance, phone conversations, soy lattes, etc). The main question that he asks (and repeats) is if she misses him while she was trying to find herself.
